The Vortex 218 Torquer is the street-level torque monster of the Vortex lineup — engineered to deliver massive low-end torque, instant throttle response, and the aggressive cammed idle LS owners love. Designed for both street trucks and performance LS builds, the 218 Torquer provides relentless bottom-end power and strong mid-range acceleration while maintaining excellent reliability and everyday drivability.

 

With 218°/218° duration @ .050" and a wide range of LSA options from 106° to 114°, this cam allows builders to tailor the engine’s personality — from a tight, lopey street cam to a smooth EFI-friendly daily driver.

Street Performance (110° LSA) Converter Stall: 2200 – 2600 RPM Rear Gear: 3.42 – 3.73 Excellent street balance of sound, torque, and drivability.

Street EFI / Boost (112°–114° LSA) Converter Stall: 2000 – 2200 RPM Rear Gear: 3.23 – 3.55 Smooth idle with excellent vacuum and stable EFI tuning.
