The 252 TORKER H.F.T. is engineered for explosive low-end torque, snappy throttle response, and street-friendly drivability in your Small Block Chevy 262–400 cid. As a Stage 1 torque-focused camshaft, it’s perfect for mild performance builds, daily drivers, and hot rods that want to feel strong acceleration off the line without sacrificing vacuum or idle quality.

This cam thrives in the 1,200–5,000 RPM range, making it ideal for street performance applications where usable torque and throttle punch matter most.

Recommended Upgrades

For best performance with the 252 TORKER H.F.T., we suggest:

  • New lifters (mandatory with flat tappet cams)

  • High-zinc (ZDDP) break-in oil & moly cam lube

  • Performance valve springs & timing set

  • Long-tube headers & free-flowing dual exhaust

  • 3.08–3.55 gears (street torque curve sweet spot)

  • High-flow intake manifold & carb/EFI

📌 Installation Notes

  • Use new lifters – never reuse old ones.

  • Apply moly assembly lube to cam lobes & lifter bases.

  • Run 20–30 minutes at 2,000–3,000 RPM for cam break-in.

  • Use high-zinc break-in oil (mandatory for HFT longevity).

  • Set ignition timing to 12–16° BTDC as a baseline.
